well, i’m not exactly standing in the pouring rain, but i have donned a mac. the latest from the twiggy collection. this blue trench is the perfect summer weight to throw over your shoulders when those thunderstorms roll through town. imho the striped lining gives this coat subtle sophistication that elevates it from the pack. it bears repeating now and again that the devil is in the details. so always be on the lookout for smart finishes to your garments – linings, buttons, trim are a good starting point. this is what timeless style is all about. and since we’re on the subject of ageless style let’s take a look at this classic shirtdress. navy blue is a neutral color that anchors my wardrobe. it’s a flattering hue that can spin off in a gazillion different color combos. today, i’ve chosen brown accessories as i’m sporting a nine-to-five look. along with my ever-so-classic pearls. but this shirtdress could easily shift gears to a casual weekend look simply by exchanging the brown belt and shoes to yellow. (or pink. or red.) watch for this transition in a future post! add a statement handbag, and i’m out the door ready to take on tuesday. let’s make it a good one!
