Everything looks so delish and festive! The potato salad recipe will be a keeper. Cucumber water is one of my favorite hot weather drinks. Your outfit is perfect for hostess duty…comfy, cool, chic… Poor Oscar, he was just hungry and it was so temptingly close. xoxo

ha, ha. good try donna! oscar was hungry for hamburgers and helped himself without asking… dogs and kids. what are you going to do some days?!
hope you had a great weekend.

It looks like a really enjoyable celebration. I love how you included some red, white and blue in the food as well as your ootd. We visited the Mighty Eighth Museum in Savannah. It was a very fitting tribute to the brave pilots who fought in England in WWII. The chapel there has the most impressive stained glass windows to honor those who fly aircraft. It made me appreciate my freedom so much more.

doesn’t savannah have to most beautiful architecture? love walking their tree-lined streets. thank you, for the beautiful reminder of the cost of freedom.

It looks like such a lovely celebration of Memorial Day. In NYC it is overcast and drizzling a bit with rather low temperatures. I would love to see the sun today but in any case I am off to work (stores are open and I work p/t in a woman’s clothing store). Oh well, there will be time for some good food when I return home!

    • beth djalali says:

hi rebecca! it looks as if we are in for a rainy summer. you and us. hope you enjoyed your day after you returned home from work. was it busy in the store? sometimes, stores get slammed on holidays. no one wants to miss the sale! even if there’s another coming on friday.
      xoxo

We did the same–there was lots of red, white and blue around! in foods and flags and clothing. Looks fun–wow–we had temps in the low 90’s but not quite as hot as yours. I’m also a big fan of Ina. None of her recipes are ever hard and they’re always delicious. Happy Memorial Day!

    • beth djalali says:

isn’t it fun to coordinate holiday colors into your entertaining theme? we didn’t photograph a watermelon and blueberry salad that was as delicious as it was refreshing. and it looked so festive. i hope you enjoyed your long weekend, sue!
