fridays with oscar

way back when we lived in minneapolis, every january and february our english bulldog buster had to don winter boots and coat before we headed out the door. it was quite the process to cinch four booties over his paws. then he’d struggle to walk across hardwood floors. once we finished, he’d cock one eyebrow to the side, as if to say “really?!” letting his utter disdain for his winter ensemble resound throughout the condo. what a character you were, buster!

there’s been nothin’ but blue skies and sunshine the past few days. no need for hats, gloves, coats, rain boots, or umbrellas. the only consolation when bad weather rears its ugly head is that oscar doesn’t need to wear booties! i can only imagine the look on his face if he did.

but today, the livin’ is easy and i’m thrilled to bits. it’s a grand day to slip on your sneakers and take a stroll with your best buddy. even if he is more interested in the squirrels than you!
