January has a way of giving a one-two punch filled with snow and sleet. Georgia is holding steady for the moment with blue skies and chilly temps. Chilly for us anyway, as the high reached the mid-fifties this past weekend. If you face the Arctic blast this week, hangeth in there and stay warm! Good news is January is half over. How to Wear Faux Leather this Winter

When I was in Europe last month, I was conscience of the women wearing midi skirts and boots. It's a winning combination that will keep you warm during the winter months with the addition of tights. Yet, a skirt and boots look modern and fresh, especially in the States, since many of us have abandoned this outfit in favor of loungewear or jeans. In my humble opinion, sweater dresses, midi skirts, and boots are a great addition to your winter wardrobe. Much like dresses when the temperatures begin to soar in the summer.
The (faux) leather trend is not going away anytime soon, although me thinks it isn’t a trend anymore but a classic essential. Leather is a very popular material. You see it everywhere. Leather trousers, skirts, dresses, jackets, bags... You name it! But faux leather is just as popular, far less expensive, and it eases a few consciences.
Moreover, (faux) leather is a timeless fabric. Speaking of a good investment? Leather definitely stands the test of time. Still not convinced by the (faux) leather trend? Finding it hard to style a (faux) leather item? Faux leather pants are a go-to of mine and are a great substitute for denim.
But I’m also a big fan of faux leather skirts like this pencil skirt from J.Crew that can be dressed up or down. Today, I paired it with a cashmere crewneck from J.Crew and suede kitten heel boots from Ann Taylor. It creates a monochromatic outfit all on its own. Add a camel faux leather blazer into the mix, and the outfit becomes a bit more interesting. Brown and black is a color combo borrowed straight from the boys and looks chic and sophisticated.

I love the faux leather look and have a pair of black and brown pants. Have often thought adding a skirt. Might have to do that. right now, in Minnesota it is -12 degrees and have not ventured out since Friday to the grocery store as I am retired and don’t care for cold weather at all. It is start breaking tomorrow rah!
