blue jeans and button downs
last weekend the temps in georgia dipped into the delightful seventies. if i was goldilocks the day was ‘just right’ not too cold and not too hot. just the way i like it. these are the days i miss san francisco’s cooler temps ‘cuz every day was pretty much perfect. but here in athens, i knew i was on borrowed time because when you live in the south you know what’s headed your way. heat, and more heat. add in some humidity, and that’s our summer that lasts well into september.
so indulge me today as i trot out an ootd that’s truly one of my weekend favorites – blue jeans, button-down, and cardigan. it’s summerfied a tad with a pair of espadrilles and leather handbag that i carry all summer long. i tossed on a favorite pin on my cardi for a little pizazz. but other than that this outfit is good to go. to be certain i wear cardigans all summer long (air conditioning can be brutally cold) but i know it will be months before it’s paired with denim again. i’m gonna miss ya blue jeans and button downs. see you next fall.

our weather is yo-yoing, donna. so one day it’s a lightweight sweater the next a sundress. i can’t keep up…

Nice neutrals–and paired with stripes, it’s pretty perfect. I have some Chanel-inspired espadrilles like that and they’re a bit loose on my feet, but I find if I put insoles in them, they keep my feet in place!
Simple and lovely–always the best. Today we hit 91, but you’re so right–inside, I’m grabbing sweaters and jackets to drape over my shoulders.
yikes! 91… but we were there with you last weekend. now it’s back to thunderstorms and cloud coverage so we have a reprieve. but can you say humid?
