as our thanksgiving weekend drew to an end we zipped down to atlanta to drop christian back home. the child has decided to save the environment by not owning a car and skateboarding to work… of course, his parents are putting a dent in the ozone layer with 120 miles round trip. but we squeezed in brunch at one of our favorite spots – folk art – featured on diners drive-ins and dives that serve mouth-watering southern fare with a modern twist. and, there were a few returns to be made from on-line purchases gone awry. all-in-all it was a productive day even if i was sad to bid christian and our holiday weekend adieu.
the temps were brisk today here in georgia. so out came my suede jacket and blanket scarf to chase the chill away. but when it comes to warmth nothing trumps a cashmere sweater. one reason i why i try to add at least one to my collection each season.
since i’ll be on the move today, blue jeans and flats are a perfect choice. if only it were as easy a decision on what to order at folk art. there were so many choices. and one more delicious than the other. i finally settled on the salmon plate and wasn’t sorry one bit. mr. style chose the folk southern fried served with the most delicious biscuits i’ve ever tasted. and christian decided a steak sandwich might fill his tank up. at least until he returned home.
can you believe monday’s knocking on our door?! make it a good one.
